If the Cause is in the Mind, why not also the Remedy?

Updated: May 26, 2022

This blog is intended to be an investigative project - through contribution and discussion – from any person interested in supporting (or disputing) the notion that there is already sufficient prima facie justification to explore the development of a more humane and effective view of mainstream medical doctoring. One which is inspired by the reasonable evolutionary assumption that the self-conscious mind is now in charge of the mind-body unity we call Homo sapiens and need not be subservient to remedies that are inaccurate, sometimes dangerous and often financially exploitive, etc.

An exploration of Nature shows there is overwhelming evidence that Evolution is no longer a theory deferring to religious prejudices, but is an established scientific fact and proves that Nature is on the march and has been for a very long time – if anything at an accelerating rate – and we are part of it, particularly in regard to the extraordinary coincidence that we now seem to find ourselves in: a peaking wave of consciousness that is probably the most powerful faculty for evolution that biology has ever produced - more powerful than hands, more powerful than fire etc. and more significant than products like cars and guns and rockets – powerful enough to observe itself and discover that pain has a healing purpose - and is not just useless martyrdom.

In other words, is not an end in itself but is a healing message to guide, not to punish us. Consciousness, it appears, is a faculty in step with Evolution and Nature so that we can expect doctoring to use it to advance, to fulfil the ideal of accurate, non-invasive and empowering when confronted with disorders of mind or body.

This power lies not just in being positive, but mainly in our Nature-given ability to discover, and thereby neutralise, the negative intentions of suppressed emotions – the hangover of our early traumas and divine frustrations that still simmer in the unconscious mind and are the strongest source of negativity in regard to the progress of the human individual and Nature in general.

We delay a cure often by not dealing with fundamentals. We misdiagnose the symptoms and, by consequent wrong treatment (with physical remedies for instance), delay the cure – and run the risk of the symptoms shifting to other more sinister forms of disorder. For the simple logic seems to be: if the cause is in the mind, why not also the remedy?

A more complete picture of the healing process needs to be researched, I think, from a fresh, metaphysical point of view. For that is, after all, the realm, the paradigm, in which we actually live – and not altogether, as the case is now, in the realm of physicality, which is the realm of chemical and instrumental modes of doctoring.
